In-depth,
focused,
experiential therapy
Are you looking to explore an issue in the hopes that with a singular focus, we can bring about change and awareness? Maybe a relationship dynamic, or a habit or a wound or wounds from the past.
Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy, AEDP, uses the therapeutic relationship as a grounding and regulating tool to help clients turn towards and move through difficult memories and feelings.
The emphasis is on noting the emotion in your body and rather than only talking about the memory or emotion, you will learn how to experience it in the session and process it in a healthy way with support and guidance.
AEDP works for the assumption that you have a healing force/self that can help you attend to these difficult places in your psyche.
This is the therapeutic approach I work from, and is the foundation for my 16-week 1:1 therapy. With this format, you and I would tackle an issue with the understanding that we have this set amount of time to explore and process the feelings accompanying that issue or concern. There is a beauty in having a container; the focus creates an intensity and aliveness to the sessions.
AEDP is an effective modality for multiple diagnoses including trauma, eating disorders, depression, and anxiety.
